Jazz is a highly expressive and unique genre of music. It is a quintessentially American form of music that relies heavily on improvisation, polyrhythms and syncopation.
This class borrows techniques from modern dance and concentrates on personal and artistic expression. Students will move to contemporary music from many genres and will explore the stylized use of the techniques in theater, concert dance, popular music videos and film.
Tap dance students will study the varied styles of the art form, borrowing from the traditional film and broadway styles of Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers and Tommy
Tune to the Nicholas Brothers, Honi Coles, Maurice and Gregory Hines and Savion Glover to the modern stylings seen today on television shows like America's Got Talent. Ensemble movements and
