The Courthouse School of Ballet has recruited some of Spotsylvania's most accomplished dance instructors, each of whom brings their own personal approach to the dance floor. All of our Instructors bring their experience and passion for teaching to our current students and the staff will continue to expand as student body enrollment increases.
Karin Tucker
Executive Director
Instructor- Ballet, Jazz and Pre-Dance Combination class
Karin was trained as a contemporary ballet and modern dancer and looks back on an accomplished career, having performed at such illustrious locations as the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, Lincoln
Center and Joyce Theaters in New York, the National Opera House in Ankara, Turkey and Wolf Trap in Vienna, VA. A desire to share this passion with others led Karin to become the founder of The
Courthouse School of Ballet. She has taught Ballet, Jazz and Modern dance for over 30 years and expecially enjoys teaching students at the beginner and advanced beginner levels.
Chrissy Schoenster
Instructor: Tap and Pre-Ballet Combination class
"Miss Chrissy" brings over 25 years of experience teaching Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Baton and Gymnastics to dance students all over the state of Virginia! She has been a contracted instructor at Langley Airforce base in Hampton, and was a faculty member of the Margie Williams School of Dance in York County, South of Broadway studios in Carrolton, VA and Dynamic Movements in Suffolk, VA. Mrs. Schoenster receiver her formal dance training at Weih's School of Dance in Newport News, VA. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA.
Christa Cregger
Instructor: Hip Hop
Christa's passion for dance started at age four when she joined the Starfires Dance and Cheer program in Fredericksburg, VA. She studied Hip Hop and Jazz dance throughout her childhood. She joined her high school dance team and was named Captain and Choreographer her first year! After graduation, Christa continued her dance studies and ultimately became a Hip Hop instructor. She absolutely loves sharing the joy of dance with children and believes dancing will give students confidence, happiness, boost their memory, increase energy and help in overall health and fitness. She has taught Hip Hop dance at Infiniti Cheer and Dance in Ladysmith, VA and Creative Movement in Fredericksburg, VA.
Lisa Schultz
Instructor: Ballet, Pointe
Mrs. Schultz has over thirty years experience as Ballet Mistress and Primary instructor in Ballet, Pointe, Character, Jazz and Tap techniques. Her formal dance training includes studying and performing at the School of The Washington Ballet under Mary Day, Eduoard Caton, Martin Buckner, Pola Nirenska & Anne Bena and at The National Ballet School under Frederick Franklin, Ann Parson, and Valerie Deacon (Ballet) & Wally Saunders (Jazz). After leaving our Nation's Capitol, Lisa trained at the New York School of Ballet with Richard Thomas and Barbara Fallis and at the American Ballet Theater School under Patricia Wilde. Her studies in New York also included additional training at the Joffrey Ballet School, The Alvin Ailey School and classes with Igor Youskevitch, Luigi and the Graham technique with Joan Ashlyn.
Mrs. Schultz has served as the Ballet Mistress of The Academy of Ballet in Hampton, VA, and on the faculties of The Newport News Ballet, The Virginia Ballet School in Springfield, VA and the Barton and Williams School of Dance in Stafford, VA.
